Dr. Bashir Al-Diri
Programme Leader
School of Computer Science, University of Lincoln
United Kingdom
Biography
Dr. Bashir Al-Diri main research is in the Automatic Retinal Image Analysis (ARIA), which aims to develop computer vision algorithms for image scanning for physical signs, computer-assisted diagnosis and biomarker discovery. Dr. Al-Diri developed a robust fully automated system for retinal vascular segmentation and measurement, which provides a unique combination of good segmentation and superior measurement performance. It is thus uniquely well suited to act as a base for research into the diagnosis of vascular diseases that cause measurable changes to the geometry of retinal vessels
Research Interest
Dr.Bashir Al-Diri research interest includes computer vision, medical image analysis, automated surveillance, artificial intelligence, deep learning, speech recognition, language corpus and lexical analysis, and applications of active contour models.
